Virginia Lee Boyer

November 5, 1925 — August 21, 2008

Virginia Lee Boyer of Old Mines, Missouri was born November 5, 1925 in Washington County, Missouri a daughter of the late Agnes (Vance) Jarvis and William Jarvis. Virginia was fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church on August 21, 2008 at the Potosi Manor at the age of Eighty-two years, Nine months and Sixteen days.

Virginia was united in Holy Matrimony on April 29, 1950 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to George Norman Boyer. They were blessed to have a very loving and caring family and a marriage of over Forty-four years together. George preceded Virginia in death on April 14, 1995.

Virginia is survived by her loving and very devoted family, Two daughters, Donna Kay Boyer of Cadet, Brenda Kline and husband John of Potosi; two sons, Mike Boyer and wife Ava of Cadet, Eddie “Crow” Boyer and wife Janet of Cadet; one Brother, Mackie Jarvis and wife Evelyn of High Ridge; two sisters Marcella Elkin and husband Bob of Fenton, Martha “Marty” Cavanaugh and husband Bob of Seven Palms, California; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren; and by many nieces, nephews other relatives and dear and special friends and by the caring ladies of the Rural Parish Workers of Christ The King. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three sons, Tommy, Ricky and Ronnie; brothers Don and Bill Jarvis; sister Jean Lawson and daughter-in-law Peggy Boyer.

Virginia had a great love for her Lord and Savior and a deep dedication to her Church, St. Joachim Catholic Church. She loved attending Mass at Church and shared the teachings with both family and friends. She always had time to dedicate to the Church and to say her prayers, especially the Rosary.

Virginia enjoyed sewing for her family, she would work tirelessly in the garden to harvest her labor of vegetables to cook and can and share with all. She took great pride in her flower gardens and enjoyed relaxing and looking at them. She enjoyed television and always looked forward to watching I Love Lucy, Matlock, Perry Mason and Everybody Loves Raymond.

Virginia’s greatest joy and love was her family, she chose to be a homemaker and dedicated her life to her husband and children. Through the tough times she always found a way to have a meal ready, clothes washed and a hug and kiss for all. She could hide her fears and heartache for each in the family and shared her love with them to help each through their toughest time. She had a great will to show all they were the special one to her, but each knew she loved them all through and through.

Visitation was held Sunday, August 24, 2008 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and Monday, August 25, 2008 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri. A Prayer Service was held Sunday, August 24, 2008 at 4:30 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel conducted by the Rural Parish Workers of Christ the King.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, August 25, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church with Father Ted Pieper celebrating. The Church Choir provided music. Serving with love and honor, as Pallbearers were; Danny Cook, Cody Cook, Joe Boyer, Michael Boyer, Eric Boyer, Dakota Boyer and Jerry Randall.

Burial and Final Prayers were held at the St. Joachim Catholic Church Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Following the services, a luncheon was provided by and held at the Knights of Columbus Hall #5936.

Services were entrusted to the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, MO.
