Bertha Maxine Brakefield of Potosi, Missouri was born on Friday, February 4, 1921 in Grove, Oklahoma a daughter of the late, Opal (Dearduff) Deloney and Edward William Deloney. Maxine departed this life on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of ninety-two years and twenty-five days.
Maxine was united in marriage to Lawrence Vernal Brakefield on June 1, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Maxine is survived by one brother, Frank Deloney of St. Louis, Missouri; nieces, Debbie McColloch and husband, Lynn of Potosi, Missouri, Audrey Ann Hamilton and husband, Larry of St. Louis, Missouri; great niece, Karen Bowyer and husband, Cody of Potosi, Missouri, great nephew, Nathan McColloch of Potosi, Missouri; great-great-nephews, Caden Bowyer and Caleb Bowyer of Potosi, Missouri. In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Brakefield on March 8, 1995, one sister, Inez Roseberry and stepfather, Frank Myers.
Maxine always loved having baby animals come to their farm and a huge vegetable garden could be found near her home. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family, especially when she was able to cook large meals for everyone. Maxine will be greatly remembered for the love she shared.
Visitation was held Monday, March 4, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Brother Roy Lynn Brakefield officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, Missouri.
