Doris Irene Brinley
Doris Irene Brinley of Belgrade, Missouri was born on Sunday, December 13, 1936 in Old Mines, Missouri a daughter of the late, Bessie (Villmer) Recar and Thomas Simon Recar. Doris departed this life on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at her residence having reached the age of seventy years, eleven months and fourteen days.
Doris was united in marriage to Bert Brinley on June 3, 1997 in Park Hills, Missouri.
Doris is survived by her husband, Bert Brinley of Belgrade, Missouri; one stepdaughter, Abby Friese and husband, Curt of Belgrade, Missouri; one stepson, Cody Brinley of Belgrade, Missouri; four sisters, Leah Pigg and husband, Lloyd of Hillsboro, Missouri; Nadine Morgan and husband, Al of Potosi, Missouri, Betty Blair and husband, Ross of Mineral Point, Missouri, Phyllis Perkins and husband, Neil of Wesco, Missouri; two step grandchildren, Andrew and Amy Friese. In addition to her parents, her first husband, Bert Bourbon, also preceded her in death.
Doris attended the St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, Bismarck, Missouri. She loved to cook and preserve vegetables from her garden and received great joy in sharing the bounty with family and friends. Doris particularly enjoyed the friends she made during her ownership of Pine Valley Western and Health Store. She loved to travel and read Stephen King novels. Doris will be very deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Visitation was held Friday, November 30, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, December 1, 2007 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the Immaculate Conception Church, Park Hills, Missouri with Father Jim French officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Robert Pigg, Richard Pigg, Edward Pigg, Kevin Pinson, Ronald Bourbon, Blaine Bourbon, Dennis Bourbon and Warren Hayes.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Park Hills, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
