Francis "Bunny" Portell

   Francis "Bunny" Portell, a dedicated family man, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on March 28, 1948, in Cadet, Missouri, Bunny was well-known for his hard-working spirit and loving nature.

   In his lifetime, Bunny developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He loved fishing and spent countless hours tending to his lawn, always taking pride in his home. Those who knew him fondly remember his enthusiasm for stock car races, where he cherished the rush of the track and the camaraderie it brought. Above all, Bunny held family dear to his heart, cherishing every moment spent with those he loved.

   Bunny is survived by his beloved daughter, Brenda Freeland and husband Joe of Potosi, Missouri; and four sons: Edward Portell and Eva Combs of Potosi, Missouri; Roger Bourbon and wife Janet of Potosi, Missouri; and Derrick Bourbon and wife Misty of Potosi, Missouri, Chris Bourbon of Potosi, Missouri. Additionally, Bunny leaves behind one brother, Randy Portell of Farmington, Missouri, as well as an expansive and loving lineage that includes his grandchildren: Angel Compton and husband Brandon, Michael Freeland and fiancée Mackenzie Rousan, Madison Portell, Coleson Portell, Reanna Lands, Ashley Veinotte, Abi Bourbon, Lindsey Bourbon, Makayla Evans, Taylor Bourbon, Chrissy Bourbon, Kody Bourbon and Britney Niggeman. He was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren. Bunny is also survived by the mothers of his children, Treasa Portell of Potosi and Patsy Portell of Potosi.

   Bunny was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Donald Portell, Stanley Portell, James Portell, Charles Portell, Maxine Battreal, and grandchildren Chloe Portell and Brandon Bourbon, both of whom he cherished deeply.

   Bunny's legacy of hard work and love for his family will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege to know him.
