Helen Dorothy Bust-Price of Potosi, Missouri was born Wednesday, May 3, 1922 in Potosi, Missouri. Dorothy was the Daughter of the late Bernice (Martin) Swift and John Wesley Swift. Dorothy was Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church Friday, February 27, 2004 at her home surrounded by her dear and loving Family. Dorothy was Eighty-one Years, Nine Months and Twenty-four Days of Age.
Dorothy was preceded in Death by her Husbands, Francis Newton Bust and John Richard Price.
Dorothy was a longtime devoted member of the St. James Catholic Church, Potosi, Missouri where she enjoyed the fellowship and the many church activities. Dorothy was a former member of St. Clements Catholic Church, Des Peres, Mo.
Dorothy is survived by her loving and devoted son, Joe Bust of Potosi, Missouri; Three Brothers, Jim Swift and wife Mary Lee of Webster Groves, Missouri, Donald Swift of Denver, Colorado and Jerry Swift and wife Joyce of Festus, Missouri; Seven Grandchildren, Carol Ann Tallis of Winchester, Missouri, James Lawrence of Potosi, Missouri, Danetta Henderson of Potosi, Missouri, Cheryl Politte and husband Mike of Potosi, Missouri, Jay Bust and wife Linda of Potosi, Missouri, Bryan Bust of Potosi, Missouri, Jodi Garnatz and husband Todd of Fenton, Missouri; Seventeen Great Grandchildren; A very dear and long time Friend, Dorothy Ann Watson of Potosi, Missouri and by many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husbands, Dorothy was also preceded in death by One Son, David Swift Bust; One Daughter, Dorothy Patricia Lawrence; Two Sisters, Mary Sieberlich and Ann Burch; One Brother, John “Bud” Swift; Grand Son-in-law, John H. “Mike” Tallis; Four Brothers-in-law, Ed Bust, Bob Bust, Cy Sieberlich and Harold Burch; Mother and Father-in-law, Effie Brown Bust and Frank J. Bust.
Dorothy was a licensed Cosmetologist and enjoyed the many friends she meet and shared conversations with. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends to the St. Louis Boats, her Tunica and Las Vegas trips always became a top memory. Dorothy would relax and read all types of books or do some crocheting. Dorothy was always ready to travel to a Bingo game and enjoy the hours with her many friends there.
Dorothy had a great love for her family and friends, each of them held a very dear place in her heart. She and her faithful and dedicated companion Suzie, a Scottish Terrier, shared many quiet times together.
A memorial reception was held Sunday, February 29, 2004 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
A Memorial Mass was held Sunday, February 29, 2004 at the St. James Catholic Church, Potosi, Missouri at 1:00 PM with Father George Galovich officiating. Music was provided by Rebecca Richards. Burial was in the St. James Catholic Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
