Margaret “Annie” (Shipley) Cain
Margaret “Annie” Cain of Potosi, Missouri was born on Sunday, February 25, 1912 in Blackwell, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Jasper Shipley and Sarah Ann (Jackson) Shipley. Annie departed this life on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at the Potosi Manor, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of ninety-four years, seven months and three days.
Annie was united in marriage to Fred William Cain on July 12, 1930 in Hillsboro, Missouri and to this union they were blessed with eight children.
Annie is survived by one daughter, Goldie Lee Boyer and husband Leonard of Cadet, Missouri; six sons, Virgil Cain and wife Ruby of House Springs, Missouri, Donald Cain of Mineral Point, Missouri, Billy Joe Cain and wife Mamie of Mineral Point, Missouri, Daniel Cain and wife Flossie of Mineral Point, Missouri, Lindell Cain and wife Jean of Cadet, Missouri, Kenneth Cain and Virginia of Mineral Point, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren and fourteen great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fred Cain, one daughter, Rose Ann Torwegge, one brother, Presley Shipley, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Annie enjoyed many activities in the outdoors during her younger years. She loved going fishing, camping and working in her garden. She was very thankful for the time she had to spend with her family, especially her grandchildren that she loved to babysit every chance she had. She also enjoyed sewing, embroidering and woodworking. Annie loved to cook for her family, they especially liked her fried chicken and chicken-n-dumplings.
Visitation was held Friday, September 29, 2006 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, September 30, 2006 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Saturday, September 30, 2006 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Ray Wecker officiating.
Final prayers and burial took place in the Lost Creek Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
