Gene Edward Canter of Irondale, Missouri was born on Friday, March 5, 1937 in Bismarck, Missouri a son of the late Mary Eva Mae (Dawes) Canter and Edward Henry Canter. Gene passed from this life on Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Mineral Area Regional Medical Center surrounded by the love of his family. Gene was Seventy-four years, two months and fifteen days of age.
Gene was united in marriage to Janet Pannebecker on October 12, 1956 in Bismarck, Missouri.
Gene is survived by his loving and devoted wife of more then fifty-four years, Janet Canter of Irondale, one daughter and very special son-in-law, Glenda Jean Sadler and Jack of Farmington; three grandchildren, Andrew “A.J.” Sadler and wife Stacey, Cory Sadler and Brent Sadler and wife Alyssa; four great grandchildren, Robyn Sadler, Cameron Sadler, Taylor Sadler and Drew Sadler; special friends, Willie and LaDonna Delashmit of Belgrade; special Nephews, Harvey Ed Pannebecker of Bismarck and Donnie Pannebecker of Bismarck and by many other dear and special relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Ada Belle Lewis, Gladys Lea Lewis and Lillian Mae Knight.
Gene had a great love and understanding for his savior Jesus Christ and was very dedicated to his Baptist Faith
Gene enjoyed the many gifts from God and loved spending time out of doors admiring the miracles of the Lord. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time landscaping in the yard and growing flowers. He was very active in making wooden crafts as gifts for family members. He enjoyed going to car museums. He always took time to enjoy their pets especially the dogs. Gene held dear the time he spent with his friends at the Bismarck Senior Center.
In lieu of Flower offerings the family would like memorials to be directed to the Bismarck Senior Citizen Center, Bismarck, Missouri.
Visitation was held Sunday, May 22, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Irondale and Monday, May 23, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Liberty Baptist Church, Belgrade.
Funeral Services were held Monday, May 23, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Liberty Baptist Church.
Final Prayers and Burial was in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Belgrade, Missouri.
Services were in the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, Irondale, Missouri.
