EMMA JANE CHAPPELL
EMMA J. CHAPPELL OF IRONDALE, MISSOURI, WAS BORN JULY 11, 1918, IN ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, A DAUGHTER OF THE LATE HAROLD AND FAYE (HARDESTY) WILDER. EMMA DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT THE WASHINGTON COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL ON MAY 10, 1999, HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF EIGHTY YEARS, NINE MONTHS AND THIRTY DAYS.
EMMA WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO THE LATE ROBERT JOSEPH CHAPPELL ON FEBRUARY 11, 1936, IN IRONDALE, MISSOURI.
EMMA IS SURVIVED BY ONE SON, DANNIE CHAPPELL AND WIFE PAULA OF VIBURNUM, ONE DAUGHTER RUBY HAMMER OF PARK HILLS, NINE GRANDCHILDREN, TWELVE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, TWO GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, TWO BROTHERS, CLIFFORD TALLEY OF LEADWOOD, RALPH TALLEY OF BISMARCK, ONE SISTER, JOYCE HARTZEL OF PARK HILLS AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS AND SPOUSE SHE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE SON, JAMES RAY CHAPPELL, ONE BROTHER, DONALD AMES AND ONE GRANDCHILD, JANET CHAPPELL.
EMMA WAS A KIND AND LOVING WOMAN WHO ALWAYS HAD THE BEST INTEREST OF OTHERS ON HER MIND AT ALL TIMES. SHE WAS ALWAYS WILLING TO LEND A LISTENING EAR, FIRM SHOULDER OR A KIND WORD TO ANYONE AT ANYTIME.
VISITATION WAS HELD TUESDAY, MAY 11, 1999, FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AT THE GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME IN IRONDALE.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED WEDNESDAY, MAY 12, AT 2:00 P.M. AT THE GUM & SON CHAPEL WITH REVEREND MARY FLING OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN BIG RIVER CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME, IRONDALE.
