Charles Bernard DeClue, born on March 7, 1937, in Cadet, Missouri, passed away on August 30, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and kindness that touched the lives of many. Known for his outgoing personality and as a friend to all, Charles was a figure of warmth and generosity in his community.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Diane Renea Day-DeClue of Potosi, Missouri; a son, Walter DeClue and his wife Lisa of Saint Louis, Missouri; and a loving family that includes grandchildren Dylan, Brooke, Ryan, Charlie, Cary, Clayton as well as ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. His family will forever cherish the memories of time spent together, particularly during one of his favorite pastimes—fishing while watching cardinals, and other birds, or scratching lottery tickets.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn DeClue; an infant daughter, Carol DeClue; and son, Daniel J. DeClue, his parents, Sadie (Torrence) DeClue and Walter DeClue, along with his siblings: Leonard DeClue, Robert DeClue, Donald DeClue, Rose Campbell, and Katherine Haley.
As an avid collector of coins, Charles found joy in the little treasures of life. His ability to connect with people and his passion for family will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
Charles will be remembered not only for his laborious spirit but also for the love and joy he brought to all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will continue to shine brightly in the lives of his family and friends.
