John Jeffery “Hoss” Clapp Sr. of Cadet, Missouri was born on March 17, 1962 in Mineral Point, Missouri a son of the late, Tillman Eugene Clapp Sr. and Marie Elizabeth (Parsons) Clapp. Jeff departed this life on October 29, 2016 having reached the age of fifty-four years, seven months and twelve days.
Jeff was united in marriage to Tena Louise Missey on May 1, 1993 in Black Missouri.
Jeff is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Clapp of Potosi, Missouri; one son, John Jeffery Clapp Jr. of Potosi, Missouri; two steps daughters, Stephanie Missey of Alabama; Kimberly Clapp of Potosi, Missouri; one brother, Ronnie Clapp of Mineral Point, Missouri; two sisters, Faye Smith-Craft of O’Fallon, Illinois; Bonnie Clapp of Potosi, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Austin Province, Layla Gunther, Austin Hedrick, Allie Hedrick, Alayna Clapp, James Schaffer, Jeffery Schaffer, Wyatt Schaffer and one more on the way; also surviving are other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his wife, Tena Clapp, one sister, Donna Kay Clapp and four brothers, Donnie Clapp, Tillman Clapp Jr., Lonnie Clapp Sr. and Dennis “Tuffy” Clapp.
Jeff loved spending time outdoors and working in his garden. He was always going hunting and fishing and enjoyed spending time with his dogs. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Homes, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the New Diggins Cemetery, Mineral Point, Missouri.
Services were entrusted to the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
