CLEO CLEMONS
CLEO CLEMONS OF IRONDALE, MISSOURI, WAS BORN AUGUST 14, 1910, IN SHIRLEY, MISSOURI, A DAUGHTER OF THE LATE JOHN ACE AND SALLY (SMITH) EYE. CLEO DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT BARNES MEDICAL CENTER ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 1, 1999, HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF EIGHTY-EIGHT YEARS, FOUR MONTHS AND SEVENTEEN DAYS.
CLEO WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO THE LATE LESLIE CLEMONS ON AUGUST 14, 1932, IN ELVINS, MISSOURI.
CLEO IS SURVIVED BY MANY NIECES, NEPHEWS, OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS AND SPOUSE SHE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE BROTHER, ROXIE EYE, THREE SISTERS, MAUDE BARTLOW, CRESSIE MAXWELL AND ANNIE DICKEY.
CLEO WAS A MEMBER OF THE IRONDALE BAPTIST CHURCH AND WAS DEVOTED TO ITS TEACHINGS ALL OF HER LIFE. DURING HER MARRIAGE TO HER HUSBAND SHE WAS DEVOTED TO HIS LOVE OF THE CHURCH. CLEO LOVED PLAYING THE PIANO AND TEACHING OTHERS TO PLAY.
VISITATION WAS HELD WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 6, 1999, FROM 3:00 P.M. TO 7:00 P.M. AT THE GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME IN IRONDALE.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED THURSDAY, JANUARY 7, 1999, AT 11:00 A.M. AT THE GUM & SON CHAPEL WITH REVEREND BRUCE TORRENCE OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN CALEDONIA METHODIST CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME, IRONDALE.
