CLAUDE F. COFFMAN
CLAUDE F. COFFMAN OF POTOSI, MISSOURI WAS BORN THURSDAY, JUNE 14, 1923 AT BERRYMAN, MISSOURI A SON OF THE LATE ANDREW COFFMAN AND LUCY (MATCHAL) COFFMAN. CLAUDE DEPARTED THIS LIFE MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2003 AT THE MINERAL AREA REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER AT THE AGE OF EIGHTY YEARS, THREE MONTHS AND ONE DAY.
CLAUDE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO JANE MONTGOMERY WHO PRECEDED HIM IN DEATH JULY 12, 1980 AND TO MILDRED PHARES.
CLAUDE IS SURVIVED BY HIS LOVING AND DEVOTED FAMILY, THREE DAUGHTERS, JOYCE DECLUE AND HUSBAND BILL OF STEELVILLE, MISSOURI; JANICE ASBRIDGE AND FRIEND DAN STULCE OF POTOSI, MISSOURI; MAGGIE HULST AND HUSBAND LARRY OF JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA; FIVE SONS, JAMES H. COFFMAN AND WIFE NADINE OF CADET, MISSOURI, JOHNNY COFFMAN AND WIFE PATTI OF BELGRADE, MISSOURI; LARRY TURNEY AND WIFE MICHELLE OF SHIRLEY, MISSOURI; BILLY COFFMAN AND FRIEND SHANON ERWIN OF SALEM, ILLINOIS; BOBBY COFFMAN AND WIFE RUTH OF CUBA, MISSOURI; TWENTY-NINE GRANDCHILDREN; THIRTY-FIVE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN; SIX GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HIS PARENTS AND WIFE, CLAUDE IS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY TWO DAUGHTERS, IBBIE SANG AND NANCY TURNEY; TWO SONS, LARRY JACK COFFMAN AND CLAUDE M. COFFMAN; THREE BROTHERS, JOHNNY COFFMAN, BEN COFFMAN AND CALVIN COFFMAN; FOUR SISTERS, ARBELL HAFFER, VIRGIE MOSES, SUSIE HUTCHING AND MAY MISSEY; ONE GRANDSON, LARRY JACK COFFMAN JR. AND BY TWO GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
CLAUDE LOVED THE MANY GIFTS OF MOTHER NATURE AND ENJOYED SPENDING TIME GAZING AT HER BEAUTY. HE WAS AN AVID HUNTER AND FISHERMAN. CLAUDE ALWAYS TOOK TIME TO PICK AND SING WITH HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS. HE ENJOYED FAMILY GATHERINGS AND WAS ALWAYS READY TO PITCH A GAME OF HORSE SHOES. CLAUDE ENJOYED PACKING UP AND TRAVELING ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES.
CLAUDE WAS A HARD AND DEDICATED WORKER, HE WORKED IN THE TIMBER INDUSTRY MOST OF HIS LIFE. HE TOOK GREAT PRIDE IN HOOKING UP HIS TEAM OF HORSES AND HEADING OUT TO LOG FOR THE DAY.
VISITATION WAS HELD WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2003 FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AND THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2003 FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 1:00 P.M. AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2003 AT 1:00 P.M. WITH PASTOR CLEO COUNTS OFFICIATING AT THE MOORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL, POTOSI, MISSOURI. MUSICAL SELECTIONS PLAYED FOR THE FUNERAL SERVICE WERE "GRANDPA", "IN THE GARDEN", "WHEN GOD COMES AND GATHERS HIS JEWELS" , "I'M GOING HOME" AND "ANGEL OF DEATH". SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE LEROY ASBRIDGE, TIM ASBRIDGE, DAVID COFFMAN, JAMES COFFMAN, JR., DAVID DECLUE, BILL DECLUE, JR., DONALD KLINE AND MICHEAL KLINE. BURIAL WAS IN THE PALMER CEMETERY, PALMER, MISSOURI.
SERVICES WERE ENTRUSTED TO THE CARE AND DIRECTION OF MOORE FUNERAL HOMES, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
