Marie Delores Coleman
Marie Coleman of DeSoto, Missouri was born on Friday, November 13, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri a daughter of the late, Mary Elizabeth (Coleman) Merseal and Thomas M. Merseal. Marie departed this life on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 having reached the age of seventy-eight years, two months and seven days.
Marie was united in marriage to Joseph E. “Plug” Coleman on September 22, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Marie is survived by three daughters, Deborah Barker of Cadet, Missouri, Sharon Bourisaw of DeSoto, Missouri, Karen Bradford-Sigler and husband, Steve of Boise, Idaho; one son, Jeffrey Coleman of DeSoto, Missouri; one sister, Mayme Courtaway of Blackwell, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Adam, Sarah, Jason, Lori, Larry, Benji, Ian, Steven and Teschia; twelve great grandchildren, Brayden, Sidynee, Taylor, Tiffany, Brittany, Andrew, McKayla, Robyn, Izaak, Naylissa, Coleman and Liliauna; nieces, Pam Courtaway, Kim Dickey, Tina Mooney; nephew, David Courtaway; also surviving are many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Plug” Coleman, three sisters, Gertrude Portell, Bessie Boyer, Pauline Pratt, four brothers, Earl “Dago” Politte, Ralph Politte, Vincent Politte and Raymond Merseal.
Marie was a loving woman who enjoyed her life immensely. She was a parishioner of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, DeSoto, Missouri. Marie loved to play bingo and cards. She kept herself busy with crosswords and video games. Marie was an avid sports fan who watched the St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Rams football games whenever she had the chance. Her family and friends were the light of her life, especially during the holidays when she always had a houseful. Marie was a remarkable person who will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Visitation was held Friday, January 22, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was Celebrated on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Jeff Coleman, Adam Coleman, David Courtaway, Larry Fast, Jim Merseal, Keith Willis, Kent Dickey and Benji Fast.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Directions of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
