Annie Rachel Cook of Nashville, Arkansas formerly of Potosi, Missouri was born Sunday, June 30, 1912 in Cadet, Missouri the daughter of Stella (Reando) Newcomer and Elmer Newcomer. Annie departed this life Thursday, December 9, 2004 in Nashville, Arkansas at the age of Ninety-two Years, Five Months and Nine Days.
Annie was united in marriage to Charles Claude Cook January 23, 1932 in Leadwood, Missouri. Claude preceded his wife in death on December 20, 1970.
Annie is survived by her daughter Toni Sue Bradford of Nashville, Arkansas; two sons, Robert “Bob” Cook and wife Andrea of Ava, Missouri, David Cook and wife Phyllis of Kentucky; three brothers, Clarence Newcomer of Potosi, Missouri, Alfred Newcomer and wife Beverly of Potosi, Missouri, Homer Newcomer and wife Louise of Potosi, Missouri; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Annie was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Burford and Jennie Wright; brother Lafayette Newcomer and Son-in-law James Bradford.
Annie was a long time member of the Potosi First Baptist Church, Potosi, Missouri. She was active in her Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the Choir.
Annie loved people and always enjoyed to visit. She enjoyed watching NBA and College Basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals. Annie would relax and work on her embroidering and crocheting. She was very active in the Extension Club for many years.
Visitation was held Saturday, December 11, 2004 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Sunday, December 12, 2004 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Homes, Potosi, Missouri.
Funeral Services were held Sunday, December 12, 2004 at 1:00 PM at the Potosi First Baptist Church, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Jeff Richards officiating.
Burial was at the Old Masonic Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri on Sunday, December 12, 2004 at 1:45 PM. Reverend Jeff Richards offered the Final Prayers. Serving as Pallbearers were James David Bradford, John Robert Bradford, Fredrick Hintze, Ronald Cook, Richard Erickson, Jeff Elliott, Randy Elliott and Mike Elliot. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were Nick Elliott, Gary Allen Newcomer, David Lee Cook, Ryan Elliott, James Fritz Hintze, Robert Lelislie Bradford, Austin Allen Bradford and Kirklan Hunter Nolan.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Steet, Potosi, Missouri.
