Barbara Cook

August 3, 1932 — July 20, 2013

Barbara R. Cook, age 80 of Farmington passed away after an extended illness on July 20, 2013 in Joplin, Missouri.

Born August 3, 1932 in Quaker, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Paul Wilkinson and Alice Martin Wilkinson. A life-long Missouri resident, Barbara lived in Quaker, Potosi, Ava and Farmington.

She was a graduate of Valley High School and worked as an administrative assistant at the Potosi Court House, the ASCS office and Ava High School. She sold Avon for over 40 years achieving the level of President’s Club. In Farmington, she was a faithful member of the Memorial Methodist Church and worked at Gifts Galore and later volunteered at Mineral Area Hospital.

She is survived by her son, Ron of Joplin, Missouri; two sisters, Louise Newcomer and June Evans, both of Potosi, Missouri.

Barbara enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts, gardening, traveling, reading, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.

Visitation was held Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday, July 24, 2013 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Scott Hall officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were: Gary Newcomer, Mark Smith, Michael Evans, Daniel Evans, Harold Martin and Ron Cook.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Antioch Cemetery, Belgrade, Missouri.

Moore Funeral Homes was Honored to be selected to guide and direct the services for Ms.Cook.
