JoAnne Corder of Overland, Missouri was born on Wednesday, November 3, 1943 in Oakland, California a daughter of the late, Frieda Belle (Hale) Houk and Lyle Garret Houk. JoAnne departed this life on Monday, August 24, 2009 at the Parklane Care and Rehabilitation Center, Wentzville, Missouri having reached the age of sixty-five years, nine months and twenty-one days.
JoAnne was united in marriage to Lawrence Hadley Corder on March 2, 1968 in St. Louis, Missouri and were blessed with one son, Brant Lawrence Corder.
JoAnne is survived by three brothers, Stanley Lyle Houk and wife, Ann of Warrenton, Missouri, Jackie Eugene Houk, John Ray Houk and wife, Irene of Troy, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Alta Garner of Carlinville, Illinois, Edna Rowe of Potosi, Missouri; also surviving are many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, JoAnne was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawrence Corder and son, Brant Corder.
JoAnne loved to travel, listen to music and sing. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, with ceramics being one of her favorites. JoAnne would visit with her friends and loved ones on the telephone, always taking time to call everyone. She loved spending time with her niece Janet Morrison and her husband Gary, and playing games with her great nephews Justin and Joshua Morrison. She will always be remembered for the love and laughter she has shared.
Visitation was held Friday, August 28, 2009 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Friday, August 28, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Elder Leonard Compton officiating. Honoring JoAnne by serving as pallbearers were: John R. Houk, John B. Houk, Justin W. Morrison, Josh A. Morrison, Gary W. Morrison and Joseph Shannon III.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery, Caledonia, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
