Frances Cordia of Potosi, Missouri was born on Monday, October 25, 1915 in Belgrade, Missouri a daughter of the late, Ora (Turner) Tullock and Earl Tullock. Frances departed this life on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, Missouri.
Frances was united in marriage to Julius Cordia on July 4, 1936 and this union was blessed with three children.
Frances is survived by one daughter, Mary Jo Edgar of Potosi, Missouri; one son, Michael Cordia and wife, Marilyn of Potosi, Missouri; two sisters, Ruby Shatley of Jefferson City, Missouri, Aileen Miller and husband, Robert of Lexington, Ohio; two brothers, Lindy Tullock of St. Louis, Missouri, Don Tullock of Potosi, Missouri; five grandchildren, Mike Cordia, Jr. and wife, Melissa, Tom Bailey and wife, Christine, David Edgar and wife, Shannon, Jason Edgar and wife, Colleen and Chris Edgar; twelve great-grandchildren; also surviving are other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband, Julius Cordia on February 26, 1995, one son, David Lee Cordia, one sister, Fairy Gillam, two brothers, John Tullock, Vernon Tullock, one granddaughter, Kelly Cordia and son-in-law, Greg Edgar.
Frances was a long time parishioner of the St. James Catholic Church, Potosi, Missouri. She loved to cook for her family, friends and will be long remembered for the many meals served to the Potosi Lions Club for over forty years. She also loved to travel all across the United States seeing all the beautiful sights. Frances’ greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed family events and gatherings when everyone was together laughing and enjoying time spent together. Frances will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends, for the joy she shared, her wonderful smile and the tremendous legacy of memories of her loving ways.
Visitation was held Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
Reverend Joe Welschmeyer celebrated the Funeral Mass on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 10:00 AM the St. James Catholic Church, Potosi, Missouri.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were grandsons, Mike Cordia, Jr., Tom Bailey, David Edgar, Jason Edgar, Chris Edgar and great grandson Dillon Cordia. Following all services, family and friends returned to the St. James Catholic Church Hall where the parish family provided a luncheon.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
