Cynthia Kay Courtaway of Cadet, Missouri was born on Tuesday, September 15, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri a daughter of the late, Esther Mae (Valley) Courtaway and Edwin E. Courtaway. Cindy departed this life on Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Mercy Jefferson Hospital, Festus, Missouri having reached the age of sixty years and fifteen days.
Cindy is survived by two brothers, Dennis “Rocky” Courtaway of Cadet, Missouri; Kenneth E. Courtaway and wife, Georgia of Cedar Hill, Missouri; also surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her sister, Helen E. Leach.
Cindy loved her brother, Rocky as they took care of each other and prayed together. She enjoyed her dolls and collecting hundreds of stuffed animals. Cindy also enjoyed traveling around with her mother going to yard sales and Tina’s Beauty Shop. She often listened to country western music; one of her favorite memories was when George Strait sang a song for her when she was able to go on his bus during a concert. Cindy loved taking care of her cats, watching T.V., playing Wii games and crafting necklaces and bracelets. She was a fun loving and very kindhearted person who will be greatly missed.
Visitation was held Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Rick Valle, Trudy Hutchison, Norm Crannick and Gene Boyer.
