Connie Faye Courtway of Potosi, Missouri was born on Tuesday, August 22, 1950 in Bellfountain, Missouri a daughter of the late Gertrude Mary (Coleman) Bourbon and Howard “Red” Bourbon. Connie departed this life on Monday, April 16, 2007 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of fifty-six years, seven months and twenty-five days.

Connie was united in marriage to James A. “Butch” Courtway on September 24, 1966 in Old Mines, Missouri.

Connie is survived by her loving husband, James A. “Butch” Courtway of Potosi, Missouri; two daughters, Jamie M. Courtway of Oklahoma, Tina Courtway and fiancé Doug Fox of Centerville, Missouri; four sons, Brian Scott Courtway and wife Tina of Frankclay, Missouri, James “Mino” Courtway, III and wife Renee of Desloge, Missouri, Tracy “Red” Courtway and wife Krissy of Potosi, Missouri, Michael Courtway and wife Sarah of Park Hills, Missouri; five sisters, Jean Eckhoff of Potosi, Missouri, Martha Aubuchon and husband Leon of Cadet, Missouri, Ruth Ratliff of Springfield, Missouri, Janice “Nan” Aubuchon and husband Allen of Cadet, Missouri, Donna Gail Emily and husband Raymond of Cadet, Missouri; six brothers, Kenneth Bourbon and wife Anna Lee of Gray, Tennessee, Jim Bourbon and wife Betty of DeSoto, Missouri, Donald Bourbon and wife Mary of Cadet, Missouri, Ronald Bourbon and wife Peggy of Cadet, Missouri, Frank Bourbon and wife Karen of Potosi, Missouri, Vernon Bourbon and wife Becky of Potosi, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, Travis, Josh, Coleby, Tarah, Derek, James Albert, Collin, Abbigale, Emily, Tyler, Lauren, Timothy and Matthew; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Howard Bourbon and one sister, Carol Mae Elsey and infant brother, Howard Jeffery Bourbon.

Connie loved spending time with her family at their gatherings, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed going bowling, camping, and playing keno. She also enjoyed canning, sewing blankets for her children as keepsakes, quilting and flower gardening. Connie loved watching Hallmark specials and “The Young and the Restless” on television. She will be very lovingly missed by all of her loved ones.

Visitation was held Wednesday, April 18, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, April 19, 2007 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Homes, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Brian Scott Courtway, James “Mino” Courtway III, Tracy “Red” Courtway, Michael Courtway, Doug Fox, Josh Courtway, Vernon Bourbon, Dennis Dornbach and Sam Steward.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
