George W. Cresswell

George W. Cresswell of Potosi, Missouri was born on Saturday, May 14, 1921 in Potosi, Missouri a son of the late, Mary Alzno (Higginbotham) Cresswell and Percy Joseph Cresswell. George departed this life on Monday, May 28, 2007 at the Parkland Health Center in Farmington, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-six years and fourteen days.

George was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Morgan on March 1, 1943 in Potosi, Missouri.

George is survived by his loving wife Mary Ellen Cresswell of Potosi, Missouri; one daughter, Judy Moyers of Potosi, Missouri; two sisters, Mildred Sansegraw of Potosi, Missouri, Sally C. Adams and husband Amos of Potosi, Missouri; one grandson, Todd Moyers and Melissa of Potosi, Missouri; one great grandson, Trey Moyers. George was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Harry Joseph Cresswell, George “G.W.” “Bill” Cresswell, one brother, Harry Joseph Cresswell and one brother-in-law, Jules Sansegraw.

George retired from the St. Joe Lead Mine Company in 1983 after thirty plus years. He attended the Pleasant Hill Christian Church. George enjoyed taking care of and working on his farm. He loved visiting with his family and friends and spending time together.

Visitation was held Wednesday, May 30, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, May 31, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 1:00 PM with Brother Carl Wilson and Brother Tim Thebeau officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Dale Sansegraw, Perry Farrow, Jim Cresswell, Don DeClue, Jerry Sansegraw and Jeff Higginbotham.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the New Masonic Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, Potosi, Missouri.
