Mary E. Cresswell
Mary E. Cresswell of Potosi, Missouri was born on July 11, 1923 in Potosi, Missouri a daughter of the late, Bessie May (Sansegraw) Morgan and Fred Franklin Morgan. Mary departed this life on March 1, 2009, the 66th anniversary of the wedding date of her and George. As Mary departed this life to be reunited with George, she was surrounded by her loving family and her wonderful caregivers at Potosi Manor Nursing Home, having reached the age of eighty-five years, seven months and eighteen days.
Mary is survived by one daughter, Judy Moyers of Potosi, Missouri; one brother, Al Morgan and wife, Nadine of Potosi, Missouri; one grandson, Todd Moyers of Potosi, Missouri; one great grandson, Trey Moyers and his mother, Trina of Belgrade, Missouri; also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, George W. Cresswell, two sons, Harry Joseph Cresswell, George “G.W” “Bill” Cresswell, two sisters, Ann Farrow-Smith, Myrtle McBride.
Mary enjoyed working on the farm along side her loving husband, George in the hay fields and feeding the cattle. She loved working in her vegetable garden and canning many fruits and vegetables. Mary worked at Potosi High School for many years as a cook. She also enjoyed sewing clothes and spending time talking with her many friends. Mostly, Mary loved her family and the time they spent together, especially Todd and Trey.
Mary was a remarkable person, not only for the longevity, but also for the intensity and clarity of focus with which she lived her life. She will always be remembered for the loved she shared.
Visitation was held Tuesday, March 3, 2009 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Vigil Service by Father Joe Welschmeyer at 5:00 PM and Wednesday, March 4, 2009 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Brother Carl Wilson and Reverend Tim Thebeau officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Perry Farrow, Jerry Sansegraw, Dale Sansegraw, Jerry Morgan, Bill Biggerstaff and George LaLumondiere.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the New Masonic Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
