Edwina Sue Crews of Potosi, Missouri was born on Thursday, May 25, 1939 in Fayettville, Arkansas a daughter of the late, Pauline (Worley) Parks and Edward Parks. Edwina departed this life on Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-two years, four months and nineteen days.
Edwina was united in marriage to Robert Elliott Crews on October 13, 1961 in Potosi, Missouri and this union was blessed with two sons.
Edwina is survived by one son, Dennis Michael Crews and wife, Melissa O’Neal-Crews of West Bath, Maine; one sister, Nancy Teas and husband, John of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Elliott, Audrey, Edward and Delaney Crews. In addition to her parents, Edwina was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Crews and one son, Edward Elliott Crews.
Edwina graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelors of Arts in English and a Masters in Education. Education was her life; it gave her great joy to pass on her knowledge and skills. She retired after thirty-two years of teaching at public school but continued teaching at Jefferson College and Mineral Area College. Watching television, doing crossword puzzles were some of her favorite pastimes. Edwina attended the United Methodist Church, Potosi, Missouri.
Visitation was held Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Dr. John Ray officiating.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
