John “Daniel” O’Neail a devout and humbled servant of the Lord, and a cherished member of the community and his family, was called home on July 7th 2024 at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 5 days. He was born on Oct 2, 1932 to the late Ernest Wilson and Clara Emmeline (Hayes) O’Neail in Victoria MO.
Daniel’s life was a testament to the virtues of humility, gratitude, and reverence to the Lord. Daniel was a man of simple beginnings, attending grade school and later worked in logging and farming to provide for his family. He was known for his independence (sometimes bordering on stubbornness) love for his family and his unwavering faith in God. He found peace and enjoyment in singing gospel music, going on wagon rides, working with horses, and just spending time with family and friends.
Daniel’s life was not marked by worldly accolades but by the gospel music and the word of the Lord that he shared with so many. His spiritual sanctuary was found within many churches in and around the community where he lifted his voice in worship. He took every opportunity to tell others how great God is whether he was out on a wagon ride, or at singing's, spending time with family and friends. He leaves behind a strong legacy of faith, love, and devotion.
Daniel is survived by his three sons, Hank O’Neail of Cadet MO, Kelvin (Tammie) O’Neail of Cadet MO, John (Teresa) O’Neail of Cadet MO two daughters Shelbie (Bill) Kohlenberger of Gerald MO, Irma O’Neail of Farmington, MO, along with 24 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by many other loving family members and friends. Each a tribute to his great legacy.
He is preceded in death by one child (baby O’Neail), his father, Ernest Wilson O’Neail, his mother Clara Emmeline (Hayes) O’Neail, his brothers, Bud, Bob, Ralph, David, Leroy, and Lloyd, his sisters, Francis Carey, Marie Owens, Gladys Douglas, and Letha Faye, two grandsons Benjamin Carey and R.J. Parks, one great grandson Ephraim Philip Massey, and one great grandchild (infant O’Neail)
In his passing we are reminded of the blessed assurance that he now rests in peace and the everlasting embrace of our Lord, where every tear is wiped away, there is no more pain or sorrow and the songs of angels welcomes him home.
