Dorothy Daugherty of Old Mines, Missouri was born Wednesday, October 6, 1915 in Old Mines, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Mary Theresa (Bequette) Coleman and George W. Coleman. Dorothy was Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church on Monday, December 29, 2003 at the Jefferson Memorial Hospital at the age of Eighty-eight Years, Two Months and Twenty-three Days.
Dorothy was united in Marriage to David H. Daugherty October 12, 1937 in Old Mines, Missouri. David preceded Dorothy in death March 8, 1994.
Dorothy is survived by her loving and devoted Daughter, Theresa Smith and her Husband Donald of Cadet, Missouri; Five Caring and Dedicated Grandchildren, David Boyer of DeSoto, Missouri, Mary Frances Drake of DeSoto, Missouri, Sandi Hedgecorth of Potosi, Missouri, Melissa Eye of Old Mines, Missouri and Donald "DJ" Smith of Potosi, Missouri; Ten Great Grandchildren; One Great Great Grandchild; A dear and Special Friend, Rachel DeClue of Old Mines, Missouri and by many other relatives and friends. Dorothy was received in heaven by her parents, husband, Two Daughters, Susan Ann Daugherty and Mary Louise Boyer; Four Sisters, Martha Sikorski, Florence Dekorski, Cecila Fritz and Theresa Coleman; Four Brothers, Vincent Coleman, Adrian J. Coleman, James Coleman and Simeon Coleman and Two Grandchildren, Kenneth Gerald Boyer and Anthony Gerald Boyer.
Dorothy was a life long member of the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri and was actively involved in the St. Anne Sodality.
Dorothy was a Cook at the St. Joachim School for Thirty Years where she enjoyed talking and spoiling to all the children. She was a long time and dedicated member of the Old Mines Historical Society. Dorothy had a great love for her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and loved the visits from them.
Visitation was held Tuesday, December 30, 2003 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and Wednesday, December 31, 2003 from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. at the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
The Funeral Mass was Celebrated Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper Officiating. Music was provided by the St. Joachim Catholic Church Choir.
Grave side Services and Burial was held Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 10:50 A.M. at the St. Joachim Catholic Church Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Jeff Hedgecorth, Davey Boyer, Donald "D.J." Smith, Warren Smith, Mike Floyd and Kody Bourbon.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
