Flora “Flo” DeGonia
Flora DeGonia of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on Tuesday, August 20, 1940 in Mineral Point, Missouri a daughter of the late, Geneva (Adams) Masson and Samuel Louis Masson. Flo departed this life on Monday, August 24, 2009 at her residence having reached the age of sixty-nine years and seven days.
Flo was united in marriage to Leslie Edward DeGonia on June 21, 1975 in Bonne Terre, Missouri.
Flo is survived by her husband, Eddie DeGonia of Mineral Point, Missouri; three sons, Timothy Alan Eads and wife, Crystal of Bay City, Texas, Kenneth Ray McMahan and wife, Teresa of Potosi, Missouri, Danny Lynn McMahan and wife, Rebecca of Shirley, Missouri; three sisters, Faye DeGonia of Mineral Point, Missouri, Dorothy McNew of Mineral Point, Missouri, Velma Jena Moyers and husband, Larry of St. Louis, Missouri; three brothers, Paul Masson and wife, Peggy of Tyler, Texas, Lonnie Masson and wife, Diane of Mineral Point, Missouri, Harry Masson and wife, Betty of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Flo was preceded in death by four sisters, Oneta Eads McMahan, Wyonia Sue Boyer, Diana Masson, Beverly Joyce Masson, five brothers, Jack Revelle, George Revelle, Sherman Revelle, John Masson and Bill Masson.
Flo loved being surrounded by her entire family. She enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers. Flo was always available to help anyone in need who will be remembered as a loving and caring lady. She did her best raising her boys and her nieces and nephews who always received her discipline, care and love.
Visitation was held Wednesday, August 26, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, August 27, 2009 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Reverend Paul David DeGonia and Pastor Steve Campbell officiating. Honoring Flo by serving as pallbearers were: Bobby DeGonia, Claude Eads, Jr., Billy Masson, Kevin Miner, Adam Miner and Glen Eads.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the New Diggins Cemetery, Mineral Point, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
