Violet Lavern DeGonia (Witt)

Violet Lavern DeGonia of Festus, Missouri was born October 11, 1937 in Gideon, Missouri a daughter to the late Sam Marion Witt and Lucy Elizabeth (Medlin) Witt. Violet departed this life Thursday, June 23, 2022 having reached the age of 84 years, 8 months and 12 days.

Those left to cherish the memory of Violet included her daughter, Teresa Ann Butler Pfaff and husband Robert Pfaff of Festus, Missouri, son, Robert DeGonia and wife Becky DeGonia of Arnold, Missouri; grandchildren, Brett Thomas Butler, Jon Eversmeyer, Scott Eversmeyer, Kim Eversmeyer, Father of her children, Raymond DeGonia of Arnold, Missouri and many other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Eversmeyer and her husband Jon Eversmeyer; sister, Rosa Mae Long; brothers, Robert Lee Witt and Cleo Kenneth Witt.

Violet loved visiting and talking with people. She worked as the door greeter at Walmart in Arnold and made many friends before retiring in 2014. She loved her job and the only reason she quit was because she developed knee pain. She also enjoyed crocheting, making quilts, playing cards and Canasta. She was a loving a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed.
