Barbara Ann Delashmit
Barbara Ann Delashmit of Belgrade, Missouri departed this life on Monday, June 28, 2010 at her home at the age of Forty-four years, Nine months and Six days. Barbara was born Wednesday, September 22, 1965 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital in Potosi. She is the daughter of Patsy Ann (Scott) Delashmit and Donald Eugene Delashmit of Belleview, Missouri.
Barbara was a member of the Palmer Community Church and loved dedicating her time to help the Church. She enjoyed singing and playing all types of instruments for the Lord. She loved all types of good Christian books especially the Bible and would always share them with anyone who would accept them. Her love for the Lord was never ending and was always ready to share her love and concern for everyone.
Barbara loved her pets, Haley, Little Girl, Sissy, Sugar Baby, Sugar Mama, Sheba, Star and Miss Kitty and considered them her companions. She enjoyed gardening, both flowers and vegetables. She would relax crocheting afghans and other items.
Barbara was a strong young lady who would help anyone and always take up and be there for her friends. She had a way of bringing a smile to everyone.
Barbara was employed by the Missouri Department of Corrections at the Potosi Correctional Center where she worked as a Correctional Officer.
Barbara is survived by her Mother and Father, two sisters, Lisa Licklider and husband Orville of Steelville, Missouri, Judy Lucy and husband Kevin of Belleview, Missouri; one brother, William Lavern Delashmit and wife Christine of Belleview, Missouri; one niece, Heather Lucy, four nephews, Dustin Licklider, Kody Licklider, Korey Licklider and Wyatt Delashmit; several great nieces and nephews; and by many other relatives and dear and special friends. Barbara was preceded in death by one nephew, Calbert Delashmit.
Visitation was held Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, MO. An Honor Guard, of Officers from the Potosi Correctional Center: Chris Walker, Bryan Martin, Michael Wortham and Michael Vance, presented honors and services during the visitation.
Funeral Services were held Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Reverend Joseph “Bud” Lawson officiating. Musical selections by Cheryl Nipper, Rev. Bruce Nipper, and Jimmy Gilliam were: “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”, “Amazing Grace”, I’ll See You In The Rapture and “I Can Only Imagine”.
Burial and final Prayers and Graveside Services were held at the Palmer Cemetery. Barbara’s fellow co-workers were honored to serve as Pallbearers who are also Correctional Officers from the Potosi Correctional Center: Officers; Bob Hand, Pam Hand, Terry Rich, Sarah Whitener, Brian Hall and Jeremy Huffman.
