HARRY EDWARD DELASHMIT
HARRY EDWARD DELASHMIT OF BELGRADE, MISSOURI, WAS BORN MONDAY, JANUARY 9, 1922 IN PALMER, MISSOURI. A SON OF THE LATE WALLER FRANK AND MABLE LEE (NIPPER) DELASHMIT. HARRY PASSED AWAY SATURDAY, MARCH 6, 2004, AT COUNTRY MEADOWS NURSING HOME HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF EIGHTY-TWO YEARS, ONE MONTH AND TWENTY-EIGHT DAYS.
HARRY WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO THE LATE GOLDIE MARIE GILLIAM ON JUNE 1, 1948, IN BELGRADE, MISSOURI.
HARRY IS SURVIVED BY THREE DAUGHTERS, SHIRLEY GILLAM AND HUSBAND GARY OF COURTOIS, CAROLINE SMITH AND HUSBAND MIKE OF PARK HILLS, BETTY PARKER AND HUSBAND DON OF WICHITA, KANSAS, SIX GRANDCHILDREN, DAVID, CHRIS, JULIE, AMANDA, DONNIE AND SCOTT AND BY TEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, A SISTER-IN-LAW, SADIE HILL OF BELGRADE AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HIS WIFE AND PARENTS HE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE SISTER, HAZEL DELASHMIT, FOUR BROTHERS, GUY, RICHARD FRANK, EVERETT GLENWOOD AND CLYDE DELASHMIT.
HARRY HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR MOTHER NATURE AND HER MANY GIFTS. HE ENJOYED HUNTING AND FISHING. HARRY TOOK GREAT PRIDE IN PLANTING HIS GARDEN AND RAISING BLACKBERRIES AND ALWAYS SHARED THE HARVEST WITH EVERYONE. HE ENJOYED TAKING DRIVES AROUND THE AREA SEEING HIS OLD FRIENDS AND MEETING MANY NEW ONES.
HARRY HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR HIS FAMILY AS HIS CHILDREN GREW HE WAS VERY EXCITED WHEN THE GRANDCHILDREN WHERE BROUGHT INTO HIS LIFE. EACH AND EVERYONE IN HIS FAMILY HELD A VERY DEAR AND SPECIAL PLACE IN HIS HEART.
VISITATION WAS HELD TUESDAY, MARCH 9, 2004 FROM 5:00 PM TO 9:00 PM AND WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10, 2004 FROM 10:00 AM TO 1:00 PM AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD 1:00 PM WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10, 2004 AT THE MOORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL WITH PASTOR CLAUDE EVANS OFFICIATING. SPECIAL MUSIC PLAYED FOR THE SERVICE WAS “IN THE GARDEN” AND “AMAZING GRACE”.
FINAL PRAYERS AND BURIAL WAS IN THE PALMER CEMETERY, PALMER, MISSOURI. SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE DAVID MCCLAIN, CHRIS MCCLAIN, SCOTT PARKER, DONNIE PARKER, MIKE KOZEMSKI AND PAUL PORTERFIELD.
SERVICES WERE ENTRUSTED TO THE CARE AND DIRECTION OF THE MOORE FUNERAL HOMES, 105 CLARK STREET, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
