Lovell Delashmit of Potosi, Missouri was born on March 2, 1941 in Palmer, Missouri a son of the late, Lola Agnes (Moses) and William Guy Delashmit. Lovell departed this life on Friday, February 22, 2013 at his residence surrounded by the love and care of his family. Lovell had reached the age of seventy-one years, eleven months and twenty days.
Lovell was united in marriage to Rhonda L. Smith on April 24, 1993 in Shirley, Missouri.
Lovell is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Delashmit of Potosi, Missouri; one daughter, Peggy Delashmit of Potosi, Missouri; two sons, Joe Edward Delashmit and wife, Patty of Potosi, Missouri, Don William Delashmit of Belgrade, Missouri; three sisters, Amylee “Bea” Bernell Hellwig of Potosi, Missouri, Marian Watson and husband, Jim of St. Clair, Missouri, Ann Buckley of Potosi, Missouri; two brothers, Donald Eugene Delashmit and wife, Patsy of Belleview, Missouri, William Delashmit and wife, LaDonna of Belgrade, Missouri; one step-granddaughter, Chenoah; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and the wonderful staff of Preferred Hospice. In addition to his parents, one sister, Dollie Delashmit, preceded Lovell in death.
Lovell enjoyed the gifts of Mother Nature, spending time outdoors going hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed tearing down old buildings using the materials for his woodworking projects and going to flea markets. Lovell will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Visitation and sharing of memories was held Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday, February 25, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service was held Monday, February 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Jim Watson officiating and Reverend Donald Delashmit assisting.
Burial was at the family homestead on Monday, February 25, 2013 with Darrin Portell, Tony Maxwell, Joe Delashmit, Don Delashmit, Eugene Buckley, Gene Delashmit and Russell Lawson honoring the life and memory of Lovell serving as Pallbearers.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
