JEAN DICUS
BETTY LOU DICUS OF POTOSI, MISSOURI WAS BORN AT LEADWOOD, MISSOURI ON MAY 13, 1938. SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE RAYMOND EUGENE DAVIS AND LULA MAE (TUCKER) DEGRANT. JEAN DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT HER HOME IN POTOSI, MISSOURI OF JULY 13, 2002 HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF SIXTY-FOUR YEARS AND TWO MONTHS.
JEAN WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO DARRELL "BUD" DOWNS AND TO THIS UNION TWO SONS WERE BORN. JEAN WAS THEN UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO WAYNE E. DICUS AND TO THIS UNION FIVE CHILDREN WERE BORN.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND, WAYNE E. DICUS OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, TWO DAUGHTERS, KIMBERLY J. ROSS AND HUSBAND DENVER OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, KRISTA LEIGH SKAGGS AND FIANCÉ BRIAN GAYLER OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, FIVE SONS, ROBERT "RUSTY" DOWNS AND WIFE CHERI OF PARK HILLS, MISSOURI, DAVID LYNN DOWNS AND WIFE SHEILA OF FARMINGTON, MISSOURI, DONNIE "JOE" DICUS OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, KEVIN WAYNE DICUS AND WIFE VICKY OF POTOSI, MISSOURI AND LARRY "KENNY" DICUS AND WIFE BONNIE OF MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI, ONE SISTER, BRENDA J. PETTIS AND HUSBAND EDWARD OF FLORIDA, ONE BROTHER, FRANKIE DAVIS AND WIFE TAMMY OF LEADWOOD, MISSOURI, EIGHTEEN GRANDCHILDREN AND FIVE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, AND MOTHER-IN-LAW, HELEN DICUS OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, VERY SPECIAL FRIEND AND SISTER-IN- LAW, WILMA LOU SKAGGS, HER "SPECIAL FRIENDS" ANDREW SCHRUM OF WEST PLAINS, MISSOURI, GLADINE BENSON OF POTOSI, MISSOURI AND SHANNA LOUGHARY, NOT ONLY HER CARE GIVER BUT A DEAR FRIEND. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY FIRST HUSBAND DARRELL "BUD" DOWNS AND ONE GRANDCHILD.
JEAN ENJOYED MANY THINGS DURING HER LIFE. SHE LOVED PLAYING CARD GAMES OF ALL TYPES WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND READING A GOOD BOOK FOR PLEASURE AND RELAXATION. SHE LOVED FINDING GOOD BARGAINS AT THE MANY YARD SALES SHE ATTENDED.
VISITATION WAS HELD AT 4:00 PM TO 9:00 PM ON MONDAY, JULY 15, 2002 AND TUESDAY, JULY 16, 2002 FROM 10:00 AM TO 2:00 PM AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME IN POTOSI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED 2:00 PM ON TUESDAY, JULY 16, 2002 AT THE MOORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL WITH PASTOR VERNON LONG OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN THE SUNSET HILL CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE DAVID DOWNS, RUSTY DOWNS, JOE DICUS, KEVIN DICUS, KENNY DICUS AND DERRICK DICUS.
