Aaron “Buckshot” East of Potosi, Missouri was born on June 13, 1944 in Potosi, Missouri a son of the late, Maude Marie (Lewis) East and Herschel Clyde East, Sr.. Aaron departed this life on November 25, 2008 at the Des Peres Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of sixty-four years, five months and twelve days.

Aaron was united in marriage to Julia “Judy” Battreal on May 21, 1977 in Potosi, Missouri.

“Buckshot” is survived by his wife, Judy East of Potosi, Missouri; three daughters, Penny Burns and husband, Wayne of Potosi, Missouri, Sherry Battreal of Potosi, Missouri, Michelle Boyer and husband, Brian of Potosi, Missouri; two sons, Graylan East and wife, Linda of Potosi, Missouri, Danny East and wife, Jamie of Potosi, Missouri; adopted daughter, Edna Boyer of Potosi, Missouri; one brother, Mark East and wife, Ronda of Long Beach, California; sister-in-law, Mary “Judy” East of Potosi, Missouri; brother-in-law, Albert Neff of Potosi, Missouri; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and many many friends including, George McAntire of St. James, Missouri. In addition to his parents, Aaron was preceded in death by his stepmother, Wilma East, one sister, Gladys Ann Neff, two brothers, Herschel C. “Jack” East, Jr. and William Lewis East.

“Buck” was baptized at the St. James Parish on October 27, 1981. He and Judy then renewed their vows and got married in the Catholic Church on October 31, 1981. “Buck” received his first communion on November 1, 1981 and was confirmed with his two daughters, Sherry and Michelle on April 20, 1986 at the Cathedral in St. Louis, Missouri. He drove the St. James church van, was an usher and helped with the Parish festivals, cooking chicken for many years, which gave him great joy.

Aaron was a very dedicated parishioner of the St. James Catholic Church, Potosi, Missouri. He was a current member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5936, Old Mines, Missouri. “Buck” loved Mother Nature and enjoying her many beautiful gifts by spending time in the outdoors, hunting, with his favorites being rabbit and deer, camping, doing lawn work and gardening. He did bodywork for forty-five years and was well known all over by many car dealers. “Buck” was a member of Machinist Local #777 of St. Louis, Missouri. He also owned East End Bow Shop for ten years.

Visitation was held Friday, November 28, 2008 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, November 29, 2008 from 8:30 AM to 9:45 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Joe Welschmeyer and Monsignor James Hanson officiating.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Calvary Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Rodney Jones, Randy Elliott, Brian DeClue, Matt Gibson, Bill Neff, Randy Mull, Scott Litton, Kenny Boyer, Marty Litton, Dave Heifner and honorary pallbearers, Tim Battreal and Colby Boyer.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
