Betty Ann (Rickner) Eaton of Potosi, Missouri, was born Sunday, October 9, 1932, a daughter of the late Clarence Sydney and Helen (Edgar) Rickner. Betty departed this life at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, March 9, 2004, having reached the age of seventy-one years and five months.
Betty was united in marriage to Herman Edward Eaton on July 25, 1948, in Potosi, Missouri.
Betty is survived by her loving and devoted husband Herman Eaton of Potosi, one daughter, Reverend Tammy Eaton of Kansas City, Missouri, one son Randy E. Eaton and wife Janice of Potosi, one sister, Linda Dickey and husband Bill of Farmington, six grandchildren, Michelle Boyer and husband Marty of Potosi, Kimberly Eaton of Potosi, Pam Wilkinson and husband Travis of Potosi, Jason Eaton of Potosi, Brandi Eaton of Imperial, Ryan Eaton of Fenton, seven great grandchildren, Lauren Laramore of Potosi, Justin Laramore of Potosi, Kayleigh Angle of Potosi, Chase Parker Boyer of Potosi, Garrett Wilkinson of Potosi, Tyson Eaton of Potosi, Aubree Eaton of Potosi, a brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Joyce Eaton of Potosi and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Betty and her husband Herman were long time owners and operators of Eaton Produce in Potosi, they prided themselves on having the freshest produce in the area and enjoyed serving their many customers and friends for many years. Betty loved to hear the phone ring or for someone to stop by and chat and reminisce for a spell. Betty loved people and never met a stranger. Betty and her husband Herman and her family enjoyed traveling to “Cloud 9 Resort” to camp and enjoy the beauty of mother nature. In later years, Betty enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at Potosi Manor and was always the happiest when she could tell of her winning streak.
Visitation was held Wednesday, March 10, 2004 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, March 11, 2004 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 2:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Linda Nelson and Reverend Don Jarvis officiating. Musical selections played were “Mercy Me”, “Beaches”, “God Will Take Care of You” and “Amazing Grace”.
Final prayers and Burial was at the New Masonic Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Honoring Betty as Pallbearers were Ryan Eaton, Jason Eaton, Travis Wilkinson, Marty Boyer, Steve Angle, Brett Dickey and Doug Dickey.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
