Herman Eaton of Potosi, Missouri was born on September 26, 1930 in Bourbon, Missouri a son of the late, Verda (Bouse) Eaton and John Cliffton Eaton. Herman departed this life on July 4, 2008 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-seven years, nine months and eight days.

Herman was united in marriage to Betty Rickner on July 28, 1948 in Potosi, Missouri and this union was blessed with one son and one daughter.

Herman is survived by one son, Randy Eaton and wife, Janice of Potosi, Missouri; one daughter, Tamara Eaton of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister, Susie Gamble of Blue Springs, Missouri; two brothers, Walter “Bud” Eaton and wife, Joyce of Potosi, Missouri, John Bruce Eaton and wife, Linda of Warrensburg, Missouri; six grandchildren, Michelle Boyer and husband, Marty of Potosi, Missouri, Kimberly Laramore of Potosi, Missouri, Pam Wilkinson and husband, Travis of Potosi, Missouri, Jason Eaton of St. Louis, Missouri, Brandi Cosentino and husband, Marc of Imperial, Missouri, Ryan Eaton of Fenton, Missouri; eight great grandchildren, Lauren Laramore of Potosi, Missouri, Justin Laramore of Potosi, Missouri, Kayleigh Angle of Potosi, Missouri, Chase Parker Boyer of Potosi, Missouri, Garrett Wilkinson of Potosi, Missouri, Tyson Eaton of St. Louis, Missouri, Aubree Eaton of Potosi, Missouri, Emily Cosentino of Imperial, Missouri; one great great grandchild, Jaelyn Dayton of Potosi, Missouri; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Billy Dickey of Farmington, Missouri also surviving are many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Eaton and brother-in-law, Dennis Gamble.

Herman worked at many different places before his retirement in 1989. He worked for the Murphy Maxwell Shell Service Station, Purina Feeds, sold produce at the Farmer’s Market, built railroad cars for the Missouri Pacific Railroad, St. Joseph Lead Company, LP gas, Arcadia Valley Propane, owned Helpe Selfe Laundermat and Eaton’s Enterprise and worked for Chrysler from 1967 to 1989. Herman worked hard all of his life and enjoyed every minute of it. Herman enjoyed spending time in the outdoors camping, four wheeling and playing with his dogs. He loved to drive around and visit with all of his family and friends. Herman was a charter member of the Elk’s Lodge # 2218 and served as it’s first Exalted Ruler, Potosi, Missouri. Herman was a very kind generous man who will be forever remembered for the love he shared.

Visitation was held Monday, July 7, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, July 8, 2008 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

An Elks Memorial Service was conducted Monday, July 7, 2008 at 7:00 PM by Officers and Members of the Potosi Elks Lodge # 2218.

A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Joe Welschmeyer officiating.

Serving as Pallbearers were: Jason Eaton, Ryan Eaton, Marty Boyer, Travis Wilkinson, Marc Cosentino and Justin Laramore.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the New Masonic Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
