Edward McClain

April 29, 1952 — October 21, 2023

Edward McClain

Edward Arthur McClain was born on April 29, 1952, in Davis Crossing Missouri, to Clinton (Buzzy) and Dorothy (Woods) McClain.  Ed married the love of his life, Polly (Lilly) on June 25, 1994.  Ed served in the Army as a mechanic in Germany during the Vietnam conflict.  He later served in the Army Reserves.  He retired after 30 years of employment at Chrysler in Fenton.  He spent his retirement years playing his drums, fishing, floating, and camping in unique places with Polly.

Ed was proceeded in death by his parents Buzzy and Dorothy, his stepfather Jim Kellet, his sister Cindy McClain, and adopted daughter Cassie McClain.

Ed is survived by his loving wife Polly McClain, brothers and sisters in law Chuck and Charlotte Lilly, and Debbie and Bob DeGrant;  children Jimmy (Beth) McClain, Gena Dunn (Josh Reising), Jon (Misty) Rice, and Heather McClain (Ben); grandchildren include Rachael (Justin) Clemons, Zane (Alexis) Rice, Lance Johnson (Whitley Lands), Zac Rice (Kelsy), Hayden McClain, Paige and Gabe Harper, Henry and Ben McClain, & Gavan, Leeland, and Brynner Reising, and one great grandson, Callan Clemons.

Ed leaves behind many extended family and friends.  He and Polly had an open door and made sure that no one they knew ever felt alone or unloved.  They “adopted” many of their children’s friends.  Ed was an active and proud member of the Bismarck Assembly of God church where he taught Sunday school, led the choir, and played the drums.  He was a faithful servant of God and was passionate in sharing his faith and love of God with all he met.

Visitation for Ed will take place on Saturday, October 28th at 10am at Moore’s Funeral Home in Potosi, with the funeral beginning at 1pm with pastors Mike Barton Sr, Mike Barton the 2nd, and brother Alan Berry officiating.
