Helen M. Eichenberger

Helen Marie Eichenberger of Irondale, Missouri was born Wednesday, June 1, 1932 at Irondale, Missouri a daughter of the late Mamie (Phayer) Pratt and Christopher Lewis Pratt. Helen departed this life at the Des Peres Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at the age of Seventy-five years, Seven months and Two days.

Helen was united in marriage to the late Alvin Roy Eichenberger. Alvin preceded her in death on September 2, 1980.

Helen is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Hawkins and husband Terry of Irondale, Shirley Walls of Leadwood, Brenda Weise of Park Hills and Janet Houston and husband Mike of West Memphis, Arkansas; two sons, Michael Eichenberger of Farmington and George Eichenberger of Irondale, two sisters, Loretta “Chub” Jamison of Frankclay and Winnie Theresa Knox of Park Hills, one brother, Roy Lee Pratt and wife Sandy of Irondale, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and special friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by one son, Ricky Eichenberger, one sister, Emma Taylor, seven brothers, Earl, William, Elmer, Robert, Jack Edward and Clifford Pratt, one granddaughter, Cindy Kelm.

Helen had a great passion for life, family and all she did, she was very devoted to her family and loved spending time with each of them. She always loved getting and giving attention to those around her. She enjoyed the large family gatherings especially at Christmas. Helen enjoyed crocheting, making blankets and all types of crafts. She will be remembered for many joyful things but especially for her cooking with special recipes and for her chicken and dumplings. She would relax watching the Young and Restless and ball games on television especially the St. Louis Cardinals. She was an avid reader of all types of books. She enjoyed listening to older country music and Elvis Presley. She was always proud of her yard and loved to spend time working in it and gardening.

Visitation was held Sunday, January 6, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday, January 7, 2008 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Irondale, Missouri.

Funeral Services were held Monday, January 7, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Irondale, Missouri with Reverend Bruce Torrence officiating. Musical selections for the service were “Jesus Loves Me”, “In The Garden” and “Will The Circle Be Unbroken”.

Burial and Final Prayers were held on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 12:15 PM at the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Terry Hawkins, Larry Hardin, Todd White, Mike Houston, Michael Houston, Ted Vaughn, Rusty Pratt and Jimmy Pratt.

Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 109 Oak Street, Irondale, Missouri.
