Marjorie “Margie” Emily of Cadet, Missouri was born on Tuesday, February 16, 1932 in Old Mines, Missouri a daughter of the late Margaret (DeClue) Bequette and Lennis Bequette. “Margie” departed this life on Monday, March 5, 2007 at her residence having reached the age of seventy-five years and seventeen days.

“Margie” is survived by four daughters, Janice Marie Clapp of Stoney Point, Missouri, Marsha Ann Gibson and husband Jesse of Mineral Point, Missouri, Julie McInerny and husband Patrick of St. Louis, Missouri, Patricia Swan of Jamestown, New York; five sons, Michael Maness and wife Becky of Cadet, Missouri, Bernard Maness and friend Donna of Potosi, Missouri, Andrew Maness of Cadet, Missouri, David Maness of Cadet, Missouri, Steven Maness and wife Tonya of Potosi, Missouri; three brothers, Carl Bequette and wife Gladys of Illinois, Lennis “Bob” Bequette and wife Bernice of Florida, Matthew “Popeye” Bequette and wife Rebecca of Herculaneum, Missouri; one sister, Mary Cecelia “Pete” Gideon and husband Lynn of DeSoto, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Norma Bequette of DeSoto, Missouri, Rose Bequette of Florida; her good friend and very special cousin, Mary McMahan; twenty-two grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to “Margie’s” parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, Junior Bernard Maness and Raymond Oscar Emily, one daughter, Catherine Louise Carver, one son, Bryan Edward Maness, three brothers, Sylvester “Tip” Bequette, Pascal “Pard” Bequette, Joseph Lynard “Bookie” Bequette, one sister, Janice Marie Bequette and four grandchildren, Sarah Clapp, Jason Clapp, Tim Gibson and Mike Maness.

“Margie” attended the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri and enjoyed praying her Rosary. She loved her Lord and His many gifts. She enjoyed cooking large meals for family and friend gatherings, especially fried chicken. She was a teacher at Head Start for over twenty years. She loved playing the guitar, sewing and quilting. “Margie” also enjoyed working in her large garden, canning and woodworking, many crafts, including picnic tables. “Margie” was a very kind loving woman who will be deeply missed by her many loved ones.

Visitation was held Wednesday, March 7, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, March 8, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Pastor Claude Evans officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: David Maness, Chris Clapp, Clayton Gibson, Jerry Dale Portell, David Eckhoff, Timothy Patterson, Phillip Portell and Nathan Clapp.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
