Charles Leroy Fenton of Caledonia, Missouri was born on Wednesday, April 30, 1941 in Litchfield, Illinois and departed this life Monday, October 31, 2011 having reached the age of seventy years, six months and one day.
Leroy was united in marriage to Sharon Faye Fredericks on November 8, 1958 in Salem, Missouri and this union was blessed with two children.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Sharon Fenton of Caledonia, Missouri; one daughter, Tammy Dickerson and husband, Greg of DeSoto, Missouri; one son, Buck Fenton and wife, Cindy of Caledonia, Missouri; mother, Mary Bernice (Jett) Fenton of Potosi, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Diane, Colin, Shawn, Tefany, Billie Jo, Ronnie, Dustin, Craig, Johnathan, Tyler; eleven great-grandchildren, Randi, Taylor, Cody, Jacob, Blane, Peyton, Shyane, Chloe, Carter, Anessa, Kale; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Abbie and Brenda Fredericks, Eddie and Donna Fogle, Jack and Charlotte Lynn; mother-in-law, Betty Fredericks; also surviving are other relatives, many friends including best friends, Dan and Patty Robinson. His father, Charles Everett Fenton, preceded Leroy in death.
Leroy who was also known as “Soup” enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music, wood working, collecting guns and riding motorcycles. He loved spending time with his family at get-togethers, especially at Christmas season. Leroy was a member of the “Buck Eye Lead Slingers” Gun Club and of the Caledonia Methodist Men’s Club at the Caledonia Methodist Church where he enjoyed assisting with his famous sausage making expertise. He will be greatly missed by his family, church family and many friends.
Visitation was held Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday, November 4, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Friday, November 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with The Reverend Jim West and Reverend Ed Fogle officiating. Honoring Leroy by serving as pallbearers were: Shawn Boyer, Craig Fenton, Colin Hedrick, Dustin Tiefenaur, Tyler Fenton, Johnathan Fenton and honorary pallbearers, Blane Maples, Cody Jenkerson and Jacob Jenkerson.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Thomas Chapel Cemetery, Belgrade, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
