Leroy Fenwick of Potosi, Missouri was born Wednesday, July 12, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri a son of the late Louise (Courtois) Bone and Joseph Fenwick. Leroy departed this life at the Des Peres Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri Sunday, February 27, 2005 at the age of Sixty-five years, Seven months and Fifteen days.
Leroy was a member of the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri.
Leroy is survived by his Aunt Roberta Cooper and husband Neil of Leadington, Missouri; Uncle, Harold Courtois and wife Patsy of Mineral Point, Missouri; Step Brother, John Martin Bone of Watauga, Texas; Nephew, Kevin Fenwick of St. Clair, Missouri and by many other relatives and special friends. In addition to his parents, Leroy was also preceded in death by one Brother, James Dale Fenwick and his Step Father, Bernis “Bubby” Bone.
Leroy had a great love for mankind and enjoyed walking around visiting and sharing thoughts for the day. He would always greet you with a smile and a Hello. He volunteered at the Sayers Senior Center and was named volunteer of the month.
Leroy loved living at the family home and lake known to many as Powder Spring Lake. He was always ready to wet a hook or just walk the banks of the lake.
Leroy enjoyed playing Bingo and would sweeten the air with his gentle touch on the piano and organ.
Visitation was held Tuesday, March 1, 2005 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, March 2, 2005 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating. Music was provided by the St. Joachim Catholic Church Choir.
Final Prayers and Burial was in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Tony Courtois, John Courtois, Randy Davis, John Bone, Jason Bone and Brandon Thomlinson.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
