Doris Fitzwater

Doris Lavern Fitzwater of Potosi, Missouri was born on Wednesday, July 5, 1933 in Manila, Arkansas a daughter of the late, Maudie Effie (Palmer) Parks and Joe Panky. Doris departed this life on Monday, September 9, 2013 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-years, two months and four days.

Doris was united in marriage to Leonard Everett Fitzwater on July 16, 1949 in Shirley, Missouri.

Doris is survived by one son, Leonard Bruce Fitzwater of Ironton, Missouri; one stepson, Elven Wayne Fitzwater and wife, Pauline of St. Charles, Missouri; two stepsisters, Maxine Dubay of the state of Washington; Ina June Schrum and husband, Scottie of Potosi, Missouri; one stepbrother, Harold Parks and wife, Shirley of Arkansas; four grandchildren, Beth Morgan and the late, Robert; Brook Boyer; Deanna Vance and husband, Clifford; Angie Huskey; Patrick Fitzwater; one step-grandchild, Kelly Rae Steward and husband, Joe; nine great-grandchildren, Rachel, Kaleb, Koltin, Jesse, Addison, Zachary, Katelyn, Chloe, Sophie; two step-great-grandchildren, Kyra and Ethan; four half sisters-in-law, Suzette Parks of Belgrade, Missouri; Peggy Parks of Odessa, Texas; Alta Parks of Belgrade, Missouri; Ruth Parks of Belgrade, Missouri; also surviving are many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Fitzwater, son, Jeffrey Lane Fitzwater, stepfather, Hurlin Parks, brother, Lloyd Denton Pankey, five half brothers, E.L. Parks, Darrell Parks, Carrol “J.C.” Parks, Curtis Ulen Parks, Paul Lee Parks and two stepsisters, Doris Hearst, Zelma Marshall.

Doris was a Christian lady, who enjoyed watching television Evangelist shows, creating ceramics items to share, collecting Home Interior pictures and Christian figurines. She also enjoyed eating K.F.C. whenever possible and traveling anywhere interesting. Above all Doris loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation was held Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held 1:00 PM Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Pastor Bruce Nipper officiating.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Palmer Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were: Paul Fitzwater, Terry Fitzwater, Sr., Terry Lynn Fitzwater, Jr., Jamie Fitzwater, Garland Fitzwater, Ronald Fitzwater, Richard Henry, Seth Gibson, Eric Streckfus and Curtis Parks.
