James David Foltz of Potosi, Missouri was born December 16, 1941 in Hindsboro, Illinois a son to the late Gerald Foltz and Rosa Irene (Hance) Foltz. James passed at his home surrounded by loved ones after a brief battle with cancer Sunday, April 4, 2021.
James is survived by his son, James Foltz and wife Cheryl of Whitesburg, Tennessee; daughters, Cynthia Hoelscher and husband Bill of Mattoon, Illinois, Teresa McFarland of Mattoon, Illinois, Katrina Todd and husband Sean of Mattoon, Illinois; brother, Dale Foltz and wife Rhonda of Clinton, Illinois; sisters, Gloria “Cathy” Cooper and husband Marvin of Decatur, Illinois, Tina Croy and husband Steve of Windsor Illinois, Angie Kleinik and husband Kenneth of St. Elmo, Illinois, Deanne Lefler and husband Everette of Mattoon, Illinois; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; close friend, Carol White- Hampton; special friend, Donna Armistead and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of longtime friends.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Foltz.
James was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp having served from 1959-1965. He loved the many gifts of Mother Nature and was very skilled at woodworking. He loved fishing, bird watching, working in his yard and tending to his beautiful flower garden. He loved his family with all his heart and he will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
