Robert Lee “Cotton” Forrester, Sr.
Robert L. “Cotton” Forrester, Sr. of Bismarck, Missouri was born on Wednesday, June 26, 1929 in Irondale, Missouri a son of the late Grace Ivy (Kirkpatrick) Forrester and Leander Forrester. Robert departed this life on Monday, April 2, 2007 at the Parkland Health Center, Farmington, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-seven years, nine months and seven days.
“Cotton” is survived by his wife, Reva Forrester of Bismarck, Missouri; three sons, Robert Forrester, Jr. of Slater, Missouri, Norman Forrester of Farmington, Missouri, David Forrester of DeSoto, Missouri; two stepsons, Carl Cantrell and wife Margaret of Bismarck, Missouri, Earl Cantrell and wife Cindy of Sentinel, Oklahoma; five daughters, Brenda, Sandra, Mary, Janet, Grace; three stepdaughters, Norma Burns and husband John of Sentinel, Oklahoma, Linda Ferguson and husband Greg of West Minster, Colorado, Brenda Lopez and husband Augner Omar of Dill City, Oklahoma; three sisters, Betty Adams of Park Hills, Missouri, Nellie Mae Latchen of DeSloge, Missouri and Virginia; one brother Charlie Forrester; thirteen grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Leander Forrester, first wife, Mattie Jane Neel-Forrester, one infant son, Daniel Ray Forrester, one stepson, John Paul Neel, many sisters and brothers and one great-grandchild, Kevin.
“Cotton” was a long time member of the Masonic Lodge #598, Leadwood, Missouri. He was a great sportsman who loved Mother Nature and was proud to have passed his knowledge of hunting and fishing to his sons. “Cotton” enjoyed his farm and lake, feeding his fish and mushroom hunting. He was always ready to express his opinion to anyone.
Visitation was held Wednesday, April 4, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, April 5, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Irondale, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Irondale, Missouri with Reverend Frank Miller Officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Ryan Cantrell, Jonathon Miller, Bill Wiese, Robert Forrester, David Forrester, Mark Forrester, Jordan Holifield and Omar Lopez.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Big River Cemetery, Irondale, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 104 Oak Street, Irondale, Missouri.
