Robert "Bob" Franklin

Robert J. “Bob” Franklin of Potosi, Missouri was born on January 6, 1948 in Potosi, Missouri a son of the late, Gertrude Veronica (DeClue) Franklin and John Henry Franklin. Bob departed this life on June 20, 2013 having reached the age of sixty-five years, five months and fourteen days.

Bob is survived by fiancé, Sandy Evans of Potosi, Missouri; two sons; Bill Finley and wife, Cathy of Perry, Arkansas, Don Finley and wife, Stacy of Bonne Terre, Missouri; six grandchildren; Tyler, Alex, Matt, Samantha, Hollie, Joey; two great-grandchildren; Scarlette and Shelbie; nieces; Debbie Mull and husband, Kenny and Barb Franklin, nephews; Keith Franklin and wife, Rhonda, Bruce Franklin and wife, Laurie, Cory Franklin and wife, Jill; sister-in-law, Helen Franklin of Potosi, Missouri; also surviving are other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two brothers; Donald E. Franklin, John Ray Franklin and one sister, Betty Jean Alphin.

Bob was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed watching Nascar racing and the Barrett-Jensen Car Auction on television. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and many of his family members and friends will remember when he had his pilot license and took great pleasure flying them on local sightseeing tours of the area. Bob was very proud of being a Union Electrician and his membership with the IBEW Local # 1 in St. Louis. He was a member of the Masonic Tyro Lodge in Caledonia and a Life Member of the Potosi Elks Lodge # 2218. He also enjoyed collecting guns, target practicing and going fishing. Bob will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation was held Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. An Elks Memorial Service and a Masonic Memorial Service were conducted during visitation. Visitation was also held Monday, June 24, 2013 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

Funeral Service was held Monday, June 24, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Pastor Mike Jarvis officiating.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Bill Finley, Don Finley, Kenny Mull, Bruce Franklin, Nick Franklin and Alex Finley.
