Emma Gaines of Desloge, Missouri was born on Friday, May 26, 1922 in Emboden, Arkansas a daughter of the late, Mary Caroline (East) Forrester and Levi Arthur Forrester. Emma departed this life on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at her residence having reached the age of eighty-eight years, seven months and eleven days.
Emma was united in marriage to the Roy Gaines in 1940.
Emma is survived by two sons, Don Gaines and wife, Fran of Desloge, Missouri, Rick Gaines and wife, Leda of Potosi, Missouri; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Franklin Gaines, one son, Paul Gaines and seven sisters and brothers.
Emma was a devoted was a devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Emma was a member of the Church of Christ in Park Hills, Missouri. She will be forever remembered for the loved she shared.
A Memorial Visitation was held Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Sugar Maple Estates located at 1121 N. Desloge Dr., Desloge, Missouri in the main house from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
