Alice May Gamble
Alice May Gamble of Potosi, Missouri departed this life Monday, December 13, 2004 at the Georgian Gardens Nursing Center surrounded by the love of her family. Alice was Seventy-one years of age. Alice was born Thursday, July 6, 1933 in Hartford, Illinois, the daughter of the late Lucille (Reeves) Johnson and Clarence Johnson.
Alice is survived by her husband, Gene Webb Gamble of Potosi, Missouri; three daughters, Gina Horn and husband Bill of Cadet, Missouri, Teresa Beth Kennon and husband Floyd “Butch” of Potosi, Missouri, Alicia Feldman and husband Steve of Ferguson, Missouri; one son, Bud Gamble and wife Mary W. of Potosi, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Veda Gamble of Minot, North Dakota; three brothers, Del Johnson and wife Karen of Angola, Indiana, Jim Johnson and wife Jan of Terre Haute, Indiana, Steve Johnson and wife Anne of Ramona, California; five sisters, Joyce Books of Osceola, Indiana; Sharon Murdy and husband Reverend Eddie of Willow Springs, Missouri, Peggy Shores and husband Bobbie of Waldron, Arkansas, Bonnie Eller and husband Reverend John of Orchard Hill, Georgia, and Melba Schneider of St. Charles, Missouri; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many other relatives and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her son, Sam Gamble; two sisters, Sharon Johnson and Coleen McAntosh; and three brothers; David Johnson, Kenneth Johnson and infant, James Paul Johnson.
Alice and Webb were married 54 years. The joy of Alice’s life was definitely her loving family. She was a collector of many good friends and all those who knew her, loved her and knew that she loved them also. Her hobbies included: collecting elephants and rings, going to auctions and playing games.
A Memorial service was held Thursday, December 16, 2004 at 5:00 PM at the Potosi Southern Baptist Church with Reverend Ed Gamble officiating.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
