Clara Gibson
Clara Virginia Gibson of Farmington, Missouri formally of Mineral Point, Missouri was born April 4, 1938 in Mineral Point, Missouri a daughter of the late Lettie (Wilkerson) Skaggs and Charles Skaggs. Clara passed away Sunday January 23, 2005 at the Parkland Medical Center, Farmington, Missouri.
Clara was united in Holy Matrimony to Donald James Gibson July 3, 1955, in Mineral Point, Missouri. They were blessed to have three daughters and two sons.
Clara is survived by her loving husband Donald James Gibson; daughters Nancy Coleman and husband Stanley of Potosi, Missouri; Pamela Dickey and Husband John of Farmington, Missouri; Roxanne Gibson of Farmington, Missouri; sons Donald Gibson Jr. and wife Dottie of Lacey, Washington; Charles Gibson of Cleveland Ohio; brother Charles Skaggs of Springtown, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren, dear friend Patsy DeClue of Cadet, Missouri and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Clara was also preceded in death by three sisters, Virgie Clapper; Ima Messinger; Dorothy Turntine; nine brothers, Walter, Hurst, Ralph, Everett “Doug”, Paul, Robert, Clyde, James and Leon, and a very good friend Wanda Wills.
Jennie as she was known by both family and friends had a great love for life and loved being a wife, mother and care giver to her family. She loved spending time with and caring for her wonderful grandchildren, she never missed a chance to spoil each of them every time they were together. She enjoyed quilting and collecting pictures. She loved to spend time growing and nurturing her many different types of flowers. She looked forward to working in her gardens everyday. Jennie loved cooking and was always ready to make candy. She would relax throughout the day watching her soap operas.
Visitation was held Tuesday, January 25, 2005 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, January 26, 2005 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Reverend Jeff Richards officiating. Musical selections played were Amazing Grace and Will The Circle be Unbroken.
Burial was held at 12 Noon, Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at the Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
