Evelyn Gilmore
Evelyn Diane Gilmore of Park Hills, Missouri was born Saturday, November 24, 1934 in Tupelo, Mississippi a daughter of the late Lemar (George) Palmer and step father A.J. Palmer. Evelyn departed this life Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at the NHC Health Care Center, DeSloge, Missouri at the age of Sixty-nine Years, Eight Months and Twenty-four Days.
Evelyn was united in marriage to Cecil Gilmore on December 6, 1951 in Independence, Arkansas. They were blessed to have Thirty-eight years with each other and Seven daughters and Three sons. Cecil preceded his wife in death on April 29, 1989.
Evelyn enjoyed relaxing and watching her soaps, especially the “Young and Restless”. She was a great fan of Elvis Presley. She loved to be on the go at all times, always ready to travel back to Mississippi to visit with family and friends.
Evelyn had a great love for her family and each of them held a very dear place in her heart. She loved the many visits from each of them and always looked forward to the next.
Evelyn is survived by six daughters Joann Previtt and husband Tommy of Steele, Missouri, Shirley Howard and husband Gary of St. Louis, Missouri, Patty Ennis and husband Bill of Arnold, Vickie Campbell and husband Tom of Cottonwood, Idaho, Sherry Akers and husband Ricky of Belgrade, Missouri, Carolyn Gilmore of Park Hills, Missouri; three sons, Cecil Gilmore and wife Angie of Cadet, Missouri, Bill Gilmore of Belgrade, Missouri, Dale Gilmore of Park Hills, Missouri; one sister, Peggy Houser and husband Larry of Springdale, Arkansas; Three brothers, Raymond Palmer of Tupelo, Mississippi, Fraymond Palmer and wife Sue of Tupelo, Mississippi, Keith Palmer and wife Nora of Tupelo, Mississippi; Seventeen Grandchildren, Billy, Evelyn, Robert, Deanna, Michelle, Mike, Mandy, Ricky, Heather, Cecil Jr., Jackie, Eric, Tracy, Josh, Brittney,. Nicky, Gene; Twelve Great Grandchildren, Astin, Katine, Bryston, Luke, Will, Brandon, Nick, Garrett, Brooke, Gavin, Katie, Hannah and by many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Katheryn (Sue) Kinney, one sister, Avelyn McDonald; one brother Charles Palmer.
Visitation was held Friday, August 20, 2004 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, August 21, 2004 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 21, 2004 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Steve Jackson officiating. Musical selections played were Amazing Grace and Precious Memories.
Final prayers and burial was in the Hazel Creek Public Cemetery, Belgrade, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Jim Boyster, Darryl St. John, Bill Ennis, Billy Gunter, Robert Gunter and William Milam.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
