William “Bill” Goodson was born on Wednesday, September 11, 1946 in Belgrade, Missouri a son of the late, Ella (Stroup) Goodson and William Ezle Goodson and departed this life on February 22, 2012 at his residence having reached the age of sixty-five years, five months and eleven days.
Bill was united in marriage to Janet Stringer on February 29, 1963.
Bill is survived by one daughter, Denna Shy and Donald Cook of Mineral Point, Missouri; one step daughter, Tina William of Park Hills, Missouri; one brother, John Goodson and wife, Winona of Potosi, Missouri; five grandchildren, William “Billy Wayne” Cook and wife, Melanie of Potosi, Missouri, Donna Reichenbach of Leadwood, Missouri, Rocky Cook and special friend, Jillisa of Mineral Point, Missouri, Preston Williams and Allegra Williams; six great-grandchildren, Isabelle Cook, Aidan Cook, Holden Reichenbach, Zander Reichenbach, Kaden James Butler, Madison Peck; also surviving are dear and special friends, Hoss Goodson, Sherry Watson, Phyllis Cook, Rocky Goodson, Anita Cain, Dallas Hedrick, Joey Kean, Randy “Pete” Kean, Wayne Kean, Alan Shy, Pat Morry, Donnie Battreal, Wayne Kean, Joey Kean and Randy “Pete” Kean. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet Goodson, two sons, Raymond and Laymond Goodson, two sisters, Lela Harrison, Betty Hedrick, two brothers, Kelly Goodson, Everett “Red” Goodson and one grandson, Donald James “Duck” Cook.
Bill loved to go turkey-hunting, catfish and spend time with his family. He was a big St. Louis sports fan enjoying baseball, football, hockey and wrestling. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Visitation was held Friday, February 24, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Brother Steve Campbell officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Rocky Cook, Chris Gray, Bobby Kean, Steve Hedrick, Clyde Hedrick, Mikie Smith, Matt Goodson, Travis Goodson, Johnny Joe Goodson, Pat Morrow, Joe Cook and Kenny Cook.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the New Diggins Cemetery, Mineral Point, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
