Marie Greenlee
Marie Greenlee of Potosi, Missouri was born on Saturday, February 21, 1925 in Leadwood, Missouri a daughter of the late Mel (DeClue) Rutledge and Arthur J. Rutledge. Marie departed this life on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of eighty-one years, eleven months and twenty-seven days.
Marie was united in marriage to Cecil Clyde Greenlee on November 13, 1945 in Potosi, Missouri and was blessed with eight children.
Marie is survived by three daughters, Karen Sue DeClue of DeSoto, Missouri, Irma Shoults and husband Lloyd of Mineral Point, Missouri, Doris Dicus and husband Donald of Potosi, Missouri; two sons, Gary Greenlee and wife Debbie of Potosi, Missouri, Arthur “Jackie” Greenlee of Potosi, Missouri; former daughter-in-law and good friend, Syndey Emily of Potosi, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Evie Greenlee of Arkansas; also surviving are eighteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Marie was also preceded in death by her Husband, one daughter, Edna Greenlee, two sons, Clyde Greenlee and Danny Greenlee.
Marie enjoyed going to church with her family and friends. Going out to eat and having dinners with her family brought her great enjoyment. She loved to cook and made the best-fried chicken, Mississippi mud cake, coconut cream pie and dinner rolls. Marie’s baking skills were enjoyed by the Patrons of Kennon’s Restaurant, where she was employed for many years. Every Friday she went to have her hair done, and enjoyed dinning out. Marie loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She was a deeply devoted Christian for many years and prayed for her family and friends daily. Marie was a current member of Harvest Assembly of God Church at Bismarck and was a longtime member of Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle, now known as the New Beginning Full Gospel Church, Mineral Point, Missouri. Her love for her children was only surpassed by her love for God. She was a very kind and giving person.
Visitation was held Monday, February 19, 2007 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, February 20, 2007 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Jim Cartee officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Jeffrey Shoults, Randy Shoults, A.J. Shoults, Mike Greenlee, Gary Greenlee, Jr., Jason Dicus, Eric Greenlee and James DeClue.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
