OPAL RUTH GUION
OPAL RUTH GUION OF RICHWOODS, MISSOURI WAS BORN AT ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI ON JANUARY 25, 1922. SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE JOHN AND REBECCA (SMITH) WRIGHT. OPAL DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT THE JEFFERSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN FESTUS, MISSOURI ON MAY 23, 2002 HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF EIGHTY YEARS, THREE MONTHS AND TWENTY-NINE DAYS.
OPAL WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO THE LATE EDWARD GUION IN 1939 AND TO THIS UNION FIVE CHILDREN WERE BORN.
OPAL IS SURVIVED BY TWO DAUGHTERS, JOYCE BAKER OF DESOTO, MISSOURI AND JANICE VASTINE OF LABADIE, MISSOURI, THREE SONS, EDWARD GUION OF RICHWOODS, MISSOURI, LONNIE GUION AND WIFE SARA OF ST. PETERS, RICKIE GUION AND WIFE MARY ANN OF HILLSBORO, MISSOURI, THIRTEEN GRANDCHILDREN AND EIGHTEEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS.
OPAL ENJOYED MANY THINGS IN LIFE. SHE LOVED WORKING OUT IN THE GARDEN ENJOYING MOTHER NATURE IN MANY WAYS. ONE WAY WAS SKETCHING PICTURES OF BIRDS AND FLOWERS. OPAL LOVED SPENDING TIME PLAYING WITH HER GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. OPAL LOVED TO TAKE TIME WITH HER FAMILY AND VISIT ANY WAL MART FOR A SHOPPING SPREE.
VISITATION FOR OPAL WAS HELD SUNDAY, MAY 26, 2002 FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AND MONDAY, MAY 27, 2002 FROM 11:00 A.M. TO 1 P.M. AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD MONDAY, MAY 27, 2002 AT 1:00 P.M. AT THE MOORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL WITH THE PASTOR DERRY BOWLING OFFICIATING. MUSICAL SELECTIONS SANG FOR THE SERVICES WERE FLY, FLY AWAY; MY HEART WILL GO ON AND THE OLD RUGGED CROSS. SERVING AS PALL BEARERS WERE JAMES GUION, LARRY BAKER, DENICE HARGROVE, DAVID WHITLEY, MIKE VASTINE AND RICHARD GUION. BURIAL WAS IN THE WRIGHT CEMETERY IN BELGRADE, MISSOURI UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
