RAMONA A. HARPER OF POTOSI, MISSOURI WAS BORN SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 1935 AT SEDGEWICKVILLE, MISSOURI, A DAUGHTER OF THE LATE CLARENCE AND EULA (ROBINSON) BARTH. RAMONA DEPARTED THIS LIFE WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 13, 2003 AT THE MISSOURI BAPTIST MEDICAL CENTER AT THE AGE OF SIXTY-SEVEN YEARS, EIGHT MONTHS AND NINETEEN DAYS.
RAMONA WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO BOBBY G. HARPER ON MARCH 23, 1954 IN MINE LA MOTTE, MISSOURI. THEY WERE BLESSED TO HAVE FOUR CHILDREN BORN TO THE UNION.
RAMONA IS SURVIVED BY HER LOVING AND DEVOTED HUSBAND OF FORTY-NINE YEARS, BOBBY G. HARPER OF POTOSI, MISSOURI; THREE DAUGHTERS, SUSAN A. MAIZE OF PONTOON BEACH, ILLINOIS, JUDY K. FORBES AND HUSBAND NORMAN OF POTOSI, MISSOURI AND CINDY L. HARPER OF PONTOON BEACH, ILLINOIS; ONE SON ROBERT E. HARPER AND WIFE MONIE OF LEXINGTON PARK, MARYLAND; EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN, JANET ALEXANDER AND HUSBAND DARRYL, JESSE HARPER, JEREMY BAILEY AND WIFE HOLLY, CHRISTINE HARPER, DANIEL FORBES, AMBER HARPER, JOSEPH MAIZE AND SARAH FORBES; THREE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, DEVIN, COBE AND MCKAY BAILEY; FORMER SON-IN-LAW, DREW BAILEY OF PONTOON BEACH, ILLINOIS; TWO SISTERS, MAXINE SEABAUGH AND HUSBAND LES OF PATTON, MISSOURI AND SYLVIA COOPER AND HUSBAND WILLARD OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS.
RAMONA WAS A LONG TIME MEMBER OF THE POTOSI SOUTHERN BAPTIST CHURCH AND A MEMBER AND PAST PRESIDENT OF THE POTOSI LIONESS CLUB.
RAMONA ENJOYED DOING COUNTED CROSS STITCH AND CROCHETING. SHE LOOKED FORWARD TO HER TIME WHEN SHE COULD SETTLE IN AND READ OR WORK A WORD SEARCH PUZZLE. SHE WAS ALWAYS READY TO GRAB HER LAWN CHAIR TO ATTEND A SOFTBALL GAME WITH HER HUSBAND. RAMONA WAS A SELF-TAUGHT PIANO PLAYER AND PLAYED FOR THE HAPPY HEARTS QUARTET.
RAMONA'S FAMILY WAS VERY DEAR TO HER, EACH OF THEM HELD A VERY DEAR AND SPECIAL PLACE IN HER HEART. SHE MADE EVERY ATTEMPT TO ATTEND ANY OF THEIR ACTIVITIES AND ENJOYED SARAH'S DANCE RECITALS, DANIEL'S TRACK MEETS AND JUST SEEING HER FAMILY.
VISITATION WAS HELD FRIDAY, AUGUST 15, 2003 FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AND SATURDAY, AUGUST 16, 2003 FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 2:00 P.M. AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD SATURDAY, AUGUST 16, 2003 AT 2:00 P.M. AT THE MOORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL WITH ELDER LEONARD COMPTON OFFICIATING. MUSICAL SELECTIONS WERE, WHAT A SAVIOR AND IN THE GARDEN. SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE: ROBERT HARPER, DREW BAILEY, NORMAN FORBES, JANET ALEXANDER, JESSE HARPER, CHRISTINE HARPER, DANIEL FORBES AND JOSEPH MAIZE. SERVING AS HONORARY PALLBEARERS WERE JEREMY BAILEY, AMBER HARPER AND SARAH FORBES. BURIAL WAS IN THE RED BUD MEMORIAL GARDENS, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
A FELLOWSHIP DINNER WAS PROVIDED BY AND HELD AT THE POTOSI SOUTHERN BAPTIST CHURCH FOLLOWING THE GRAVE SIDE RITES. MEMORIALS WERE REQUESTED TO THE AMERICAN DIABETES FOUNDATION.
SERVICES WERE ENTRUSTED TO THE CARE AND DIRECTION OF MOORE FUNERAL HOMES, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
